Boston’s Dagny Hotel Lead Concierge John McKinnon’s journey through hospitality reflects his passion for creating unforgettable guest experiences and mentoring the next generation of concierges.
John earned the prestigious Les Clefs d'Or USA designation after years of dedication, connecting with industry leaders and attending events like the 2023 Les Clefs d'Or Conference in Las Vegas. McKinnon notes that "Becoming a member of Les Clefs d'Or means being recognized as one of the best in this business. Everyone wants to be considered the best at what they do."
Looking ahead, he’s excited to inspire others through his new GBCA role: "As members of Les Clefs d'Or, we are leaders in our community. I hope to pave the way for up-and-coming concierges and help them reach their full potential. Networking is huge! Building strong relationships with other concierges, restaurants, and vendors is key to success in this industry."
On what motivates him daily, John says: "I never want to say 'I don’t know' to a guest. I always strive to find the best answer or solution to their questions and needs." John is optimistic about the future, and says, “I look forward to being a small part of The Dagny Boston's continued success as a new independent property here in the city. I also look forward to creating new relationships while continuing to develop current relationships within the city and beyond.”
